CALRoads View

Predicts air concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and suspended particles near roadways. Options are available for modeling near intersections, parking lots, elevated or depressed freeways and canyons.
Estimates total air pollutant concentrations (CO or PM) near highways from both moving and idling vehicles. This model also estimates the length of queues formed idling vehicles at signalized intersections.
An enhanced version of CAL3QHCR, this model can process up to a year of hourly meteorological data and vehicular emissions, traffic volume, and signalization (ETS) data for each hour of a week

Contouring Capabilities

Advanced contouring tools are part of the CALRoads View package. There is no need to purchase an additional software package to produce professional, customized contoured results of your modeling.  Below are just a a few of the features you will find in the integrated contouring tools.

Complete Control Over Contours - Specify contour levels, color shading, transparency, contour labels, fonts, and more!

Ambient Concentration Ability - CALRoads View can include ambient concentration with its model results with a single click.

Wind Direction - Show wind direction at time of maximum concentration as well as concentration values.

Extensive Site Map Support - Import base maps from a variety of file formats to aid in digitizing your site or for final report visualization. Supported formats include Shapefile, bitmap (BMP), AutoCAD DXF, USGS Land Use/Land Cover (LULC), USGS Digital Line Graph (DLG) and more!

Overlay Control - Your output should appear the way you want it. With the ability to simultaneously display site maps, contours, buildings, receptor locations, sources and more, Overlay Control allows you to display these layers in the order you need. Just click and drag them to make your visualization shine.

Annotation - Many annotation tools are present to help you communicate your results even better! Place descriptive text or labels, arrows, and other markers anywhere you need.

Export Utility - In addition to contouring you can further export your work as Metafiles, Bitmaps or GIS Shapefiles. 

Modeling requirements differ from project to project and you shouldn't need to hand define receptors. CALRoads View provides extensive receptor input options.

Visualizing your site in CALRoads View is easy. Our full-featured support for a variety of image and map formats allow you to design your model with confidence and view your results in context with your site.

GIS - CALRoads View features integrated ESRI GIS technology. ESRI is the world leader in GIS technology.  Easily work with Shapefiles (popular ArcInfo & ArcView file format). Customize colors and assign color patterns to different theme elements.

Bitmap Support - Even though bitmaps do not contain any spatial information, our bitmap import utility allows you to quickly use any bitmap image. Simply specify the coordinates of two known locations on the bitmap and the software does the rest. Make use of aerial photos or scanned images!

USGS DLG & LULC - Freely available on the Internet, these popular digital formats provide you with land use/land cover data (LULC) as well as roads, hypsography, hydrography and more.

AutoCAD DXF - Many sites contain detailed maps in AutoCAD format. Easily import these into CALRoads View.

Layer Control - Your site maps are treated as individual layers. This means you have control over how you want them displayed in relation to other modeling objects. Do you want it to appear under the contours? Just click and drag!

Graphical Input

Modeling requirements differ from project to project. CALRoads View provides extensive graphical input tools making tasks fast and easy to accomplish. Standard input is also available at anytime.

Easy Roadway Input (Links) - Click and drag to specify your links on the drawing area. CALRoads offers a variety of link types such as: at-grade, depressed, fill, bridge, parking lot and intersections.

Clear communication of your modeling and results are crucial to a successful project. CALRoads View lets you impress your clients with extensive graphical output options.

Contour Visualization -Apply terrain contours to your site view for professional maps. Specify contour levels, color shading, transparency, contour labels, fonts, and more! Includes options to export contour data to other packages if desired.

Show Concentrations Tool - View concentration values at each receptor with a single click! Make your final report clear and concise by visualizing all your data.

Wind Direction - Create easy-to-understand projects that have arrows at each receptor displaying the wind direction at the time of maximum concentration. You can also control the size of these arrows.

Ambient Concentration - Display the ambient concentration of your contours at any time with a single click of a button.
