Design and Analyze New or Existing Storm Sewers System


Storm and Sanitary Sewers' plan and profile sheets are created automatically utilizing user-defined parameters.
Storm Sewers designs and analyzes any new or existing storm sewer system for non-uniform flow and computes the hydraulic grade line. It determines the flow rate in each pipe in the network, performing a step hydraulic analysis. This module provides for inlet analysis and design throughout the network. Powerful plan and profile routines are included.

Network Manager

If you need to evaluate multiple sewer networks in one project, Storm Sewers takes care of your needs. Storm Sewers has full analysis and design capabilities. You can determine the shortcomings in existing networks or let Storm Sewers size pipes for new networks.

Hydraulic Grade Line Calculation

Non-uniform and uniform flow analysis methods are available for Hydraulic Grade Line calculations.
Manning's Equation is used for determining friction losses.
Up to 2,000 sewer lines can be input and evaluated per network under partial, full or surcharged flow conditions.
Account for junction losses at manholes and friction slope averages using several methods.

Pump Stations

Design new and/or analyze existing curb, grate, slotted or combination inlets.
Choose from popular grate or curb types and uniform or composite cross-sections.
User-defined coefficients, percent capture, spread and clogging factors allow you to set your inlets to meet your design conditions.
You can redirect bypass flow to any downstream inlet making sure that your calculations reflect real world situations, instead of following preset program logic.

Network Design and Analysis

Easily add new sections of pipe networks to existing systems and perform analysis and design at the same time.
Insert new lines and/or remove old lines while allowing the entire network to update or remain static.
Define design constraints to meet your exacting standards.
You can customize the pipe sizes used in your network.
While designing your pipe network, the minimum velocity criteria ensures that your network flows at your desired velocity. The desired depth of cover may be satisfied by specifying your minimum depth of coverage criteria. Storm Sewers is intelligent enough to tell you when one condition would violate the other and lets you specify which one controls.
Extract ground profiles for rim elevations and cover calculations from a Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN). These may be created by Surface Modeling or imported as an ASCII file created by a spreadsheet, database program or text editor.
Stretch your pipe network to move an inlet to a new location and have the pipe network relink itself to the inlet.
Use Storm Sewer's global editing capability to change dozens of network parameters in one step.

Storm Sewers includes rainfall maps for the entire United States to help you calculate intensity-duration-frequency relationships.

Visualization

Storm Sewers automatically creates a 3-D model of the network as you enter information, so you can easily look for conflicts.
Easily rotate the model and zoom in to examine pipes entering and leaving junctions.

Plan and Profile Sheets

Storm Sewers has hundreds of settings built into the Plan and Profile Sheet Generator to allow you to customize them according to your own specifications.
Define your sheets by specifying the design reach, or by defining a reference alignment to base stationing and offsets on.
After your sheets have been created, you can perform on-screen sheet adjustments to move your plan view up or down, move your profile up or down, move the entire sheet left or right and rotate your plan.
Easily have your sheet border appear on every sheet you make.
If you need to create plan only, profile only or profile over plan sheets, Storm Sewers can accommodate you. A custom setup area allows you to customize nearly everything about how your sheets are created.

Customizable Reports

Create fully customizable output reports.
Several preset input and output reports are available to provide information to your clients.
