Channel Flow
Overview
The ARTS open channel analysis/design capability extends to the
computation of uniform flow, gradually varied and rapidly varied flow in
channels of rectangular, trapezoidal, u-shaped, v-shaped, parabolic and
circular sections.
The main channel property page lets you select the shape of the channel and input its dimensions on a scaled interactive diagram. You can also edit the length, gradient and the surface roughness of the channel.
You can examine flow profiles in single channels and also multiple
channels in series. The water surface profile plotter allows you to
examine the surface profile in a single channel, under various boundary
conditions, such as upstream and downstream depths, lateral inflow and end
inflow.
